With more than 800 employees and 3,000 partner farmers , Panzani controls every stage in the processing of pasta and couscous seeds from its own seed mills and production plants in France.

Our production sites:

Panzani has 6 production sites in France:

  • 3 semolina mills in Gennevilliers, Marseille St Just and Marseille Littoral, which process 470,000 tonnes of French durum wheat every year.
  • 2 production sites in Nanterre and Marseille, which produce pasta under the Panzani brand for the northern and southern halves of France respectively, using a local distribution network.
  • 1 production site at Vitrolles, producing semolina and couscous granules for the Zakia, Le Renard and Ferrero brands.

Our supply of French wheat:

Durum wheat is harvested in France, close to the production sites:
– In the agricultural regions of south-east and south-west France, to supply semolina mills and the Marseille factory.
– In the agricultural regions of central and western France, to supply the Gennevilliers semolina mill and the Nanterre factory.

In all, they cover 50,000 hectares of fields, located from 50km to a maximum of 400km from our mills.

Our head office in Lyon:

Panzani is one of a number of agri-food companies to have chosen to establish its head office in Lyon. Panzani moved its headquarters to Lyon in 1967, first to La Croix-Rousse district and then to the 6th arrondissement, before settling in the Monplaisir district. In August 2023, Panzani embarked on a new chapter in its history by relocating to the dynamic business district of La Part Dieu. This new head office embodies the dynamism of our company, and its location means we’re well connected to our production sites, thanks to its proximity to the station.

Our research centres:

CRECERPAL, the Centre de Recherche sur les Céréales et les Pâtes Alimentaires (Research Centre for Cereals and Pasta) in Marseille, brings together experts working on the durum wheat sector and its innovations. Working with partners and specialists since 1973, it is helping the industry to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

The Durum Center, Panzani Solutions’ application centre, is dedicated to promoting and increasing the value of durum wheat for industrial and Food Service customers, and also has a Cook Show, a demonstration kitchen.

50th years of

the Research Centre

In 2024, Panzani celebrated CRECERPAL’s 50th birthday. This was an opportunity for the Panzani Group to produce a video to showcase its expertise in durum wheat.
